CAMPUS ART DUBAI 4.0

Campus Art Dubai (CAD) is a school for artists, curators, writers, architects, designers and cultural producers based in the UAE. Meetings occur over weekends and feature courses, talks, workshops, taught and led by a local and international cast of academics, critics, curators and artists. The course provides a space for critical thinking and the exchange of ideas and skills, with participants encouraged to collaborate, debate and challenge.

CAD 4.0 launched its fourth edition in October 2015, and ran through to March 2016, culminating at Art Dubai, March 16-19, 2016.

CAD 3.0 Core Lead Tutors Murtaza Vali and Uzma Rizvi returned to lead the 4.0 course collaborating with a carefully selected group of local and international guest tutors to co-present and teach the class.

The Core Programme took on the theme Turbulent Waters, Shifting Sands. Course material, workshops, lectures, critiques and seminars explored what it means to exist in the fluid geographies and topographies of the region, while challenging participants’ fixed notions of borders, identity, architecture, urban development and trade.

Campus Art Dubai 4.0 was part of Art Dubai’s educational programming and was held in partnership with Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, and supported by Dubai Design District (d3).
